BATTLE at BONHAM - LSGTPA Tractor Pull Set for July 16

The Duncan Motorsports Team is planning to return to Powder Creek Park in Bonham, Texas on July 16, to field both the 'Texas T-Rex' and the 'Twisted Kitty', in the BATTLE AT BONHAM event !

DUNCAN TEAM TESTS 23 DEGREES OF SEPARATION

Lane Duncan and his 'Texas T-Rex' pulling tractor, have found some consistency in the last few LSGTPA pulling events.  Some of the performance has been attributed to the 23 degree Firestone tires, and finding the appropriate air pressure for varying track conditions.

A set of Hi Run 45 degree tires, have been used on some of the harder tracks, with good results.  These tires seem to perform well on tracks with a hard and sticky surface, but do not seem to favor the loose or sandy track conditions.

Lane Duncan attributes some consistency to Firestone pulling tires on his 'Texas T-Rex'.

Lane's newest entry, his 'Twisted Kitty' Suburban tractor, has debuted using the Hi Run 45 degree tires, with good results.  The team has now acquired a set of the Firestone 23 degree tires, for which to test on the 'Twisted Kitty', when track conditions might seem to favor the steeper cut lug.

Lane Duncan will be testing different lug angles, on the pulling tires of  his 'Twisted Kitty' LSGTPA pulling tractor.

Pulling teams constantly fine tune their machines pulling tires, using grinding wheels to sharpen and shape the lugs and tire surfaces.   Tire pressures are adjusted according to track conditions, and weight is moved to try and balance the loads on the tires, to match the track surface.

Duncan Team Pulls Out Win At Powder Creek Park

Lane Duncan turned in a good performance at the Bonham Heritage Day LSGTPA tractor pull, at the historic Powder Creek Park facility in Bonham, Texas.  Duncan and team unloaded two tractors for competition in the LSGTPA Youth Class.  The old standby 'Texas T-Rex' tractor drew the first card, and would take to the track first.  The newly completed 'Twisted Kitty' tractor, would pull last in the class. 

During the opening round, Lane made good pulls on both tractors, with the 'Texas T-Rex' tractor holding onto the lead.  After the first pull of the second round, Lane elected to drop the 'T-Rex' tractor to the back of the field.  Once the dust had cleared, Lane had positioned his tractors in first and second place, with the 'Texas T-Rex' taking the win, and the 'Twisted Kitty' finishing in the runner up spot.

On the day, the team had a great outing on a pretty peculiar track.  The surface was sticky, and somewhat spongy underneath.  The completely different setups on both tractors, helps the team determine what each track requires, and is providing and interesting lesson at each event.   Hopefully, campaigning the two tractors with different setups, will help the team in the long run, in learning the benefits of each combination.

RAIN DELAYS HUNT COUNTY FAIR LSGTPA PULL - RESCHEDULED FOR APRIL 29,30

Several inches of rain, just days before the opening weekend of the Hunt County Fair, has caused officials to postpone the LSGTPA tractor pull for the April 22, 23 nights.  The event has been rescheduled for April 29th and 30th.   Start time remains 6pm, on both Friday and Saturday nights.

National Anthem performers Victoria Leigh and Averi McFadden, have both rescheduled their appearances, and plan to lead the opening ceremonies for each night.

The Antique Tractor Pull has also been rescheduled, for a noon start on Saturday April 30.  Mark your calendars and plan accordingly !

Duncan Debuts With Win At Delta County Fair

Lane Duncan pulled double duty at the Delta County Fair in Cooper, Texas, piloting two tractors in the LSGTPA Youth Class competition.  Duncan made his LSGTPA competition debut aboard his 'Twisted Kitty' tractor, with a Full Pull on the initial pass for the machine.  He would hold onto first place, and put the tractor on top of the field for the win, at the first event of the LSGTPA 2016 season.  Duncan would also pilot his 'Texas T-Rex' tractor at the event, scoring a fourth place finish after two early shutoff passes, to avoid going out of bounds.

The slightly longer wheel base on the 'Twisted Kitty' entry, seemed to like the very sticky, Rocky Young Construction prepared track at the Delta County Fair.  Plenty of traction, seemed to favor the 'Twisted Kitty', as the tractor was built with a lower center of gravity.  The 'Texas T-Rex' is a little shorter wheel base, and the weight sits a little higher, which causes some handling issues on certain tracks.  The team plans to lower some of the weight on the 'T-Rex', to keep the front end down on the tracks with more traction.

We were honored to have Shawna Spangler stop by and perform our National Anthem for event !  So excited to have Shawna as part of the show, and she did an amazing job of singing !

Lane Duncan presented Shawna Spangler with an honorary trophy, for her outstanding National Anthem performance.  The trophies were provided on behalf of the Enloe Museum, and were constructed by the Enloe Museum staff for the Youth Class competitors.

We were also honored to have Steve Mack, with Racers For Christ, stop by to visit and present our opening prayer for the event.  Racers For Christ is a national organization that supports motorsports, and is entering the second year with association with our Lone Star Garden Tractor Pullers Association.  So proud to have that organization as part of the events in 2016 !

We loaded both tractors with nothing broken !  So, we will be performing routing maintenance on both, to prepare for the Hunt County Fair double header, on April 22, 23.  Events are scheduled for a 6pm start time, on Friday and Saturday nights in Greenville, Texas.

Duncan Prepares For Double Shot At Delta County Fair Title

Lane Duncan and the Duncan Motorsports Team are preparing for the Delta County Fair Season Opener for the Lone Star Garden Tractor Pullers Association 2016 season.  The event is held at the Delta County Pulling Track, located at Harmon Park in Cooper, Texas, on Saturday April 9th.

The team will compete with the 'Texas T-Rex' Youth Class tractor, which will be entering its sixth season in LSGTPA competition.  Also, the team will debut the new 'Twisted Kitty' tractor, also competing in the Youth Class.  Lane Duncan will pilot both machines. 

The event is scheduled for a 2pm start, with opening ceremonies to feature our National Anthem presentation by Shawna Spangler.

Duncan Team Testing Tractors In Bonham

Lane Duncan and his 'Texas T-Rex' team attended the LSGTPA Test -N- Tune event, held at the Powder Creek Park Pulling Track in Bonham, Texas.  The goal for the team, was to make a test pull aboard the 'Texas T-Rex', and to debut the new 'Twisted Kitty' tractor with a couple of test pulls.

The day started great, weather-wise, but got off to a rocky start as the LSGTPA group found a weak link in the sled early.  During the unloading of equipment, the transfer sled was found to have a broken steering link.  Repairs to the sled and equipment, took most of the day, limiting the teams time for testing.

Both of the Duncan Motorsports team tractors were inspected and passed technical inspection, but the 'Texas T-Rex' was not unloaded.  The team prepared to use the time for test passes aboard the new Youth Class tractor.   The day ended early for the 'Twisted Kitty'.  With a fairly easy tuneup, Lane hooked to the sled for an easy pass.  The tractor left the line pretty hard, carrying the wheels a little more than expected, out to around the thirty foot mark.  As the tractor settled down and seemed to be about to make a pretty good pull, something failed in the transmission. 

The team will attempt to make repairs and weight adjustments, for the LSGTPA Season Opener at the Delta County Fair in Cooper, Texas.  The event is set for a 2pm start, on Saturday April 9th.
